Senior Professor(HAGP). K. V. Kale is currently working as a Senior Professor (HAGP) Higher Academic Grade Pay, Program Coordinator of UGC SAP and DST FIST, in the Department of Computer Science and IT as well as Coordinator of University RUSA project School of Computational and Physical Sciences. He worked as a Director, Board of College and University Development (BCUD) of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad, Maharashtra. He was Head of the Department of Computer Science and IT at the University for more than 9 years. He also served as Director of University Network & Information Center (UNIC) of Dr. BAMU. He has acted as President of ICT Section the Indian Science Congress Association, Kolkata in the year 2015-2016 under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. He had served on various state-level committees like Perspective Development Plan, Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), Higher Education Policy, New University Act, Higher and Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra. He served as coordinator of Monitoring and evaluating committee of Avishkar research program organized by Governor of Maharashtra. He is a pioneer of Multimodal Biometrics and Remote Sensing Data Analysis in the region and established & developed stateof-art Multimodal Biometrics Research Laboratory (MBRL) as a unique national Laboratory, RS and GIS, Pattern Recognition and as a center of excellence in teaching and research in biometrics and advance Image processing technology in university.
He has more than 32 years of experience in research, innovation and teaching at UG, PG and PhD level. He has published more than 395 National and International research articles, 06 books and 22 book chapters. The current total impact factor of his research is more than 24, with h-index of 20 and i10-index of 57. He has recently granted an Australian patent along with other 8 Indian Patent Published. He has given a number of plenary lectures, invited talks and Chaired Sessions at Symposia, workshop, national & international conferences. He has successfully supervised 38 Ph.D., 09 M. Phil and 29 M.Tech students and currently 05 PhD students, 02 M.Phil. Students and 05 M. Tech (CSE) scholars are working with him. His area of research includes Remote Sensing and GIS, Image Processing, Pattern Recognition, Computer Vision, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Neural Network, Big Data Analytic, Internet of Things(IoT) etc. He is Editor in Chief, Editors, Reviewers of various International, National Journals. He has mobilized the research fund more than 24 crores from various funding agencies like DST, UGC, RUSA, Media Lab, etc.for augmenting and establishing an excellent research laboratory in the university through major research projects and played a key role to mobilize more than 100 crores to the University R&D Projects and scheme. He has successfully completed 8 major research projects and working on 5 projects at present. He has developed and designs new algorithms and methods for fingerprint, face, palm, iris and other biometric modalities and developed a multimodal biometric recognition system and technique of spectral signature of remotely sensed data.
Professor Kale has several academic honours and professional distinctions to his credits. He has served on various bodies and authorities of the university like Senate Member, Management Council Member, Academic Council Member, BOS & RRC’s chairman, BUTER Member, BCUD member, etc. time to time. He has also been working on various statutory authorities of other universities, in different capacities such as; Chairman and Member. Recently, he is nominated as a member of the independent expert committee for evaluating the solutions/courses of NEAT (National Educational Alliance for Technology) 2.0. AICTE Government of India. He has received ICT Researcher of The Year 2016 ACS Digital Disruptors Award, SEARCC International Awards and Pearcey Foundation Award, Australia. He was the recipient of VIJAY SHREE Award for his meritorious services, outstanding performance and remarkable role in the field and bio-graphed in Who’s Who in the world of USA. He was also the recipient of the most prestigious One Time Research Fellowship 2 times from UGC for research and development on biometrics system development. He is a recipient of the International Amazing Idea Award confirmed by SAI International organization (USA) in 2013 at LONDON in its International Conference. IACSIT confirmed his excellent paper Award at Paris, France in 2013, in its international conference. He has a very distinguished academic career and has carved his career entirely on the basis of merit and academic excellence.
He is also a fellow, life member and member of a number of international organizations like International INNS-IEEE, OGC, IACSIT, IAENG, Signal Processing Society, Communications Society, Computer Society, Geoscience and GRSS, Green-ICT Community, IoT Community, Life Sciences Community, and national organizations like CSI, IPA, IUPRAI, ISCA, SIGAI, C-DAC, IAO, and many more. He is a fellow member of IETE and SSARSC, and served for IETE as Chairman of Aurangabad Center. He is visionary, enthusiastic, hardcore dedicated teacher and researcher and developed a new mechanism of teaching, learning & evolution methods.
Very recently his Nominations in Top 100 Professionals 2017, International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England, 6 Jan. 2017 and awarded as a Research Professor Award for the year 2016-17 by the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University Aurangabad for his excellent work in the research domain.
